When I went into see my stylist last week, the hair on the top of my head was completely straight. She was really fascinated by that. My hair used to be wavy on top, straight on the sides and back. It's been growing in just the opposite - straight on top, curly on the back and sides. Well, just a couple days after seeing her, I thought I saw signs that the top was starting to develop waves. Now, it is definite. The hair on the top of the head is a bit shorter than that on the back and sides, so maybe that's why it took longer to get to the point where it waves. Anyway, it looks like I'll be curly and/or wavy once things are all grown in.

I've been enjoying the pool. Rick and I frolicked in it on Christmas day, but we couldn't talk my parents into joining us even though the water was very nice. I did 50 laps today. The water was quite nice again.

Tuesday we went up to see Rick's brother, Gary, and his family. Gary started radiation for his cancer today. He went for several simulations before they could start his treatment. I had just the one. They had to make blocks for him so that the rays can be controlled so they only affect the lymph nodes and colon. He is still in great spirits and he's going to do great.

Well, the date of my divorce from Grizzie (aka Grizabella the Glamour Gallstone) is set for January 9th at an absolutely unGodly hour of the morning. At that hour, I doubt they'll need to use any anesthetic. They could just let me sleep through the procedure naturally. This is a good date for me. It gives me time to get some writing done in advance so that I can relax that week and recover. I'll have to reschedule my cardiology appointment. Also, Rick has an appointment to see the colon specialist the day after my surgery. He wanted me to come, but he may have to go it alone. Rick isn't having any symptoms, but now that his brother has rectal cancer, we know that his father had it and one of his sisters had pre-cancerous polyps removed. With 3 first degree relatives affected, his risk is pretty high. So he is going to be making a new, life-long friend of this colon specialist. So, it looks like we've got a pretty exciting New Year scheduled so far!
