I am behind in updating! I have convinced my PT to allow me out of the bandages during the day so that I can do my computer
work. I still wear the bandages about 14-16 hours a day. I'm having some redness and pain on the heel of my hand and the
hypothenar area. We are working on getting me a Contour Plus for
nighttime use and for flying, travel to elevation, etc. Today will be my 6th manual lymphatic drainage treatment and we
will measure my arm to see if it's gotten any smaller. I'm really pleased so far. The exercises the PT gave me have made
a big difference in how my shoulder feels - almost no pain now! I'll need to keep doing them forever -- I choose to look
at that as an opportunity to be pain-free and strong. Not everyone gets such an easy solution to their pain, so I'm lucky!
I'm bummed I won't get my sleeve in time for next week - I'm leaving Rick in Phoenix and meeting my college roomies in
Sedona. I'm very excited, but I'll have to wear the bandages the whole time I'm there. The elevation in Sedona is about 4,000'
- in Phoenix just 1,000'. My PT says I might be able to get away with some time out of the sleeve, for swimming for instance,
but most of the time, I will be mummy woman. Again, that's OK! I'm just so excited to see my old friends and have a week off!
Rick is busy working on getting the area around the pool in shape. The pool itself is great! Now we need landscaping and
a door put in that leads from the master bedroom out to the patio. We're going to also get the house painted - it really
needs it! Rick is busy getting bids and finding contractors. We've picked out the door and paid for it, but we have to wait
5 weeks before it's built and installed. Everything else will probably have to wait on that. Still, I'm glad to see we are
finally moving on this! Very exciting!
