Effects of Soy Phytoestrogens Genistein and Daidzein on Breast Cancer Growth

I had my 18 month follow-up with my surgeon today. It seems almost impossible that it's been 18 months already since we heard those words "You have breast cancer." He is very pleased with how my breast looks and feels. He agrees with me that the skin is nice and soft and the amount of post-radiation fibrosis is minimal. I go back to see him again in 6 months.

I have to go back to the cardiologist this week. Despite the great news on the most recent MUGA, I'm having episodes of arrhythmias. The doctor will want to do some kind of monitoring, and so off to see him I go on Wednesday. We are trying not to see this as a setback, but it's hard to know how to take it until we get more information. So we are just waiting.

I meant to post on Tuesday about the whole cardiology thing, but I've been somewhat distracted by the TV news on the terrorist attacks on the US. My mother, however, tells me that perhaps there is one person out there who is worrying about me rather than the folks in NY and Washington DC who have legitimate and pressing needs. So, for my mother, let me just say that there is nothing actually happening with my heart. I cancelled the cardiology appointment when I figured out that the "arrhythmias" were mysteriously happening only at one end of the pool. I did some playing around in the pool and discovered that proximity to the pool light is what triggers my monitor to act as if my heart is beating wildly, when in fact, my pulse (taken manually) is right where it should be. So I had a good laugh with the cardiologist's assistant and cancelled the appointment. Now, whoever it is that has been worrying about me, stop. Go back to watching your TV. The world needs your prayers more than I do!
